The Background of Roses Country Fayre

Having an on-site nursery gives our garden centre a huge advantage, when customers are seeking fresh, choice plants with minimal carbon footprint. But how did the nursery begin?

Roses Country Fayre nursery began life in the late 1970s growing salads and vegetable crops on our site in Newent.

Changes were made and production began to focus on ornamental plants in the following years. A specialisation began to develop for cyclamen plants and pansies.

Now, over 35 years later, Roses nursery is an established business with a well respected reputation for producing high quality bedding plants. Growing a wide range of geraniums and fuchsias has always been popular with our customers.

Recently Roses Country Fayre nursery has expanded production of herbaceous perennial plants. In the spring a very popular variety is erysimum bowles mauve and in the summer a wide variety of cottage garden plants are produced, lupins are favourites.

Hanging baskets are a speciality at Roses Country Fayre and for many years our baskets have helped local towns to achieve 'Britain in Bloom' awards.

In addition to production for our own garden centre, our nursery also supplies many large garden centres across the Midlands region and Birmingham market. Having an on-site nursery gives our garden centre a huge advantage, with immediate access to a huge range of top quality plants.
